Now that you have learned a little about me, I figured you should probably learn about what the motivation behind and the goal of what this blog is!
The blogosphere has been on my radar since I started college, but I had never knew what I wanted to write about. It wasn’t until I heard the spectacular Jordan Lee speak on my campus, that I was inspired to do a Christian living blog. For any of you who have never heard of Jordan Lee, she is the founder of SoulScripts, and is such an inspirational Christian woman you should definitely look into her!
Here is her website! http://thesoulscripts.com
Although I was inspired, I did not feel that I was at the right point in my faith walk to start writing (and hopefully inspiring girls) about it! I knew I needed to have that a-ha feeling of starting “Diligently His”.
Romans 12:8 says, “if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
I do not think I could have said it any better myself! This verse is what I want this space to be for you! I want to be able to be all of those things for you, an encourager, a giver, and a leader.
Encouragement. I am here for you to praise you all for your accomplishments. Please please please share with me all that is going on in your lives! One of the best parts of being in a sorority is meeting every week and hearing about all of the highs and lows that are going on in all of our lives. I LOVE hearing about other people’s lives, the good and the bad. My philosophy in life that nothing good can happen if you don’t have the bad to go along with it. Those terrible crawl up in a ball lay in bed moments can the most encouraging parts of our lives. There have been TONS of moments in my life, that I will definitely include in later posts, like this that are some of my most moving points in my life.
Giver. One of the most rewarding aspects of my personal faith is giving. No matter how busy or stressed I get, I will always make the time for people in need, and somehow I actually feel less busy and stressed. There are too many aspects to giving to list them off, so instead of doing that I am going to let this subject speak for and develop for itself.
Leader. When I think of the word leader, there are many parts to this role: honesty, creativity, confidence, inspirational, passion, etc. I aspire to fill these roles for you, but I am going to be quite honest and say that it won’t happen immediately. I am imperfectly me and can recognize that I fall short in many of these roles all the time, and this is where I go to God for my advice. I am just beginning my journey into digging deeper into the Bible and I love it! Even in this short amount of time, I have felt more capable of leadership and there is only one explanation to that…. the Bible is our how to live life for dummies book! Throughout my blog posts, I will be including Scripture to help me lead you!
Since this is the beginning of my blogging journey, I will be writing about anything and everything I can think of! The topics will be somewhat general until we really get the feel of each other– meaning what you want to read about and what I am good at writing about!
